3271-SAM 2 Build Instructions

The 3271-SAM2 PCB assembly contains components that are sensitive to electrostatic discharge (ESD) – please make sure you are wearing your wrist strap when handling.

Load software - Connect to Atmel Flip system version 2.4.6. Select Menu then the file marked 3271_SAM2_v200.hex, Check it has the latest version software on S\Code\Software version matrix. Click on USB plug Icon at top of menu from this select CAN / PEAK, from this Menu Click Initiate then node connect. Un-tick box marked BLJB. Click Run this will load the software to the PCB.

Conect PCB into Monex. This should light up 3 LED’s. Blue Tx which pulses, A and B will be solid red lights.

Set instances as per picture below

Set fluid type and buttons as per picture below.

Use 2x sliders to check averaging is working. This picture shows below, “8” set to 75% and “9” set to 25%, so the average is 50. Try on a couple of other values. LED’s on PCB should now be as follows: Tx LED will flash blue, and A and B will both be flashing green

Assembly. Remove M12 nut (retain for later). Remove rubber grommet – this can be disposed of as it is not required.

Fit standoffs so that the PCB sits at the correct height in the plastic case

Potting: fill the box just under half way, this allows the potting to seep over the edge of the PCB as it’s pushed into the potting.

Then fill the potting to the shoulder of the switch. Take care not to cover the LED’s during this phase.

Allocate serial number and print label

use a bubble bag to protect the unit. Pack into RPT 108 box, with sleeve.
