3501 Build instructions

The 3501 PCB assembly contains components that are sensitive to electrostatic discharge (ESD) – please make sure you are wearing your wrist strap when handling.

Programming

Connect the unit to 24V NMEA power as shown

Connect the STM32 Programmer to the unit as shown

Open STM32 Programmer and go into the programming tab

Select the 'File Path' to be S:/Code/Production/3501/3501Bootloader

Click “Connect” in the top right corner and make sure all the boxes are checked as shown below and click “Start Programming”

You can now remove the STM32 programmer from the PCB, the Blue LED should be solid blue.

Now Open Monex Software (found in S:/Code/Published PC Programs/Monex3

On the Device Info Tab click, 'Get Serial' and 'Get PodInfo', you should see the following:

Go To the 'Programming' Tab and click on 3501, and then on 'Reprogram!' on the pop-up that appears

Then select vessel for which the unit will be used from S:/Code/Production/3501/….

For Testing Purposes PEARL62 is used:

The Programming will begin, wait until “Re-booting to Application Code” is displayed before you begin testing

Testing

Using Monex seet up the level transmit controls as shown below:

The received Level value should be 57.08% (red bar on the right of Monex)

The top left and top middle LED's should be flashing green every 2.5 seconds, and the blue LED should also be flashing every 2.5 seconds.

Change the level values to the ones shown below:

The received Level value should be 51.29% (red bar on the right of Monex)

Go to the Device Info tab and change the Hex switch value on the PCB, monitor Device Inst Upper/Lower to make sure it matches the switch value.

Packaging

Use a RPT112 box and a 200374 insert
