Test Procedure
Select Monex 3.10
Include Rotary Switch testing (Right switch for all device instances 0-15 and left switch for each Fuel Type, and Position 8+ in US mode.)
After flashing the software the unit is tested to confirm the unit functions correctly. Connect the leads as per image above. Tote – this image is currently set up for the 50% check
Check FULL, HALF FULL and EMPTY. These readings are shown on the Bar Graph on screen. This check is also conducted after the potting procedure to ensure functionality.
QC Check before potting, check the colour of the LED is blue.
To test the calibration, set Resistance box top 90Ohms = 50%, 180Ohms = 100%, 0Ohms = 0%.
Potting Procedure
.
Warm the compound in the water bath (this should be set to 40 degrees), this takes approximately 10 minutes for the bath to come up to temperature and 5 minutes to warm a bag of compound. Do not warm above this temperature as it will greatly reduce the pot life of the compound. Once warm, work the black potting BEFORE removing the clip and rail – this will help remove any lumps caused by the fillers that have settled over time. Then, place back into the bath for 2 minutes. Remove the clip and rail, and mix thoroughly for approximately 2 minutes.
REMEMBER TO TURN THE WATER BATH OFF ONCE YOU HAVE FINISHED WITH IT !
. Holding the bag vertically snip about 10 mm off the top corner at 45 degrees with a pair of scissors. Now drizzle the Epoxy over the circuit board to a level, taking care not to get any on the LED or Dial face. Allow to harden overnight. This will allow the mixture to settle.
The Potting must now be left for 24 hours to cure and harden.
After the units have been removed from the jig, remove any over spill from the jig so it is clean for the next use.
Once the epoxy potting has cured, the serial number label can be adhered to the top of the product as shown. Position carefully as the two
Serial Number Hardware and Software level. Connect to Monex and assign serial number to the units using the set serial function.
