5121 Build instructions

**5121 Build instructions**

The 5121 PCB assemblies contain components that are sensitive to electrostatic discharge (ESD) – please make sure you are wearing your wrist strap when handling.

Using a File, modify the corners of the lower rear cover (203084). Identify with white marker see picture below.

Ensure all debris has been removed.
Modify Power connector (203208)

Remove power connector and turn 180 degrees, ensure the + and – are in the correct position. Place heat shrink on cable (200584) and solder red and black wire to power connector (202433) on power PCB (10293-A) then heat shrink cable. See pic.

Lightly De-burr 10851- B PCB and Use thin double sided tape on each end to hold in place. Ensure all three pads have been modified.

Modify 10866 cable assy by removing current connectors and replacing them with 203793 crimp, and 203794 connector on one side. Then 203421 connector and 203422 crimp on the other end. (Ref 10871 drawing)

Insert holes on Bezel with 4 x (203324) Standoffs. Fix Power PCB into position using 4 x (202429) Screws and 4 x (200508) washers.

Fit heat spreader (203230) to Bezel using screws provided (use smallest screws here)

Fit Sata board (203204) to (203208) board Use Loctite 222 with screw provided.

Fit memory card (203303) to underside connection point of (203208) Board Add Heatsink compound to heat spreader Fix PCB (203208) into position with long screws provided with PCB, use Loctite 222

Solder Red and Black wire from connector (202433) to power board (10293-A)

Screw 10863 cable Red and Black into green connector on (203208) Plug the other end into PL4 (10293-A)

Fit TFT using (202880) screws and loctite 222

Glue everything into place using the Glue gun

Programming Instructions

You Will Need:

  • USB - “Secondary Poseidon Display Installer”
  • 24V Power Supply
  • Ethernet Cable
  • Keyboard
  • HDMI Cable
  • Monitor with HDMI Port

Step 1

Connect the 5121 to the monitor using the HDMI Cable

Step 2

Connect a Keyboard and USB-Stick to the 5121 using the shown USB Ports

Step 3

Connect the Power Supply and set to 24V & 3.1A (Do not turn on)

Step 4

Connect the 5121 to an ethernet connection using the ethernet cable

Step 5

Turn on the power supply while repeatedly pressing the 'Enter' key on the connected keyboard.

You Should see this on the connected monitor:

Step 6

Traverse the menu using the arrow keys on the keyboard.

In the “Chipset” menu, select the following:

  1. Northbridge
  2. LVDS Panel configuration

Change the setting to the following:

  • Panel Type - 1920×1080@60Hz
  • Color Depth - 48-Bit
  • Backlight Type - Normal
  • Backlight Level - 80%
  • Backlight PWM Freq - 220Hz

Step 7

In the “Boot” menu, change the boot option priorities so that the connected USB is Boot Option #1, and ubuntu is #2:

Step 8

In the “Save & Exit” menu, “Save changes and Reset”:

The monitor will now restart and begin installation. you will be given some options in the next few steps before waiting for the installation to complete.
