5185 Build Instructions
1. Prep the rear cover
Take the rear cover (203611-D) and check the silver square for excess paint or other anomalies.
Fit the antenna lead (203837).
Use an 8mm ring spanner and 8mm socket on the torque driver as shown.
Use the ring spanner on the wire side.
Use the torque driver on the nut outside and tighten until it slips.
The plug should line up with the opposite corner, this will make fitting easier.
Place a thin bead of clear silicon around the connector and smooth down as shown.
2. Prep the TFT assembly
Take the TFT assembly (203818), remove the 2 pieces of masking tape, fold back the ribbon and peel off the protective backing from the ribbon.
Press into position.
Tape the wires to the sides.
Insert the ribbon cable. Make sure the black flap on the connector is up, slide the cable in, blue side up, then press down to lock in place.
3. Build the unit
Make sure you have all the parts as shown.
Add the Raspberry Pi to the board(10883-E) if not already fitted.
Program the Raspberry Pi (203645) on the bench. Connect the PCB to the programming bench with the ethernet cable and power cables provided. Advise engineering if you need to program Std P7s before connecting. After 10minutes, check the 3 green LEDs are solid. If the 3 LEDs are solid green, the unit has been programmed.
Apply a small amount of heatsink compound (203131). Add the rubber washers to the connectors.
Fit the board to the case, using screws (202431) & washers (201025). Attach the antenna cable to the board.
Fit the plastic nuts to the 3 connectors and inset the vent plug (203741).
Plug the board in, to ensure it power up.
Attach the screen assembly.
Leave the unit running on the soak bench for 48hours. the bench will take 96 units simultaneously.
4. Seal the unit
For a std unit, plug into Monex and set the serial number.
Fit the corresponding serial number label.
For Honda units,
Turn your power supply to 24V and connect the P7 twin tail cable to your power supply, GPS and NMEA cable. Open Puma. Select Programming. Select P7 or P7 (Honda). Follow the instructions on screen. In the final step, take your USB marked “H7 Update” (For Honda) and insert it in to the device. Wait for the device screen to say “Successful, Reboot”. Remove the USB and Power Cable.
Re-Insert the power cable and scan the barcode label to set the serial number.
Fit the serial label.
Coat the edge of the screen with Primer 3M94 (203946).
Fit the scree, as centrally as possible.
Remove the screen protector and silicon seal around the edge.
Clean and smooth the silicon whilst still wet.
Leave to dry for 24hours, then fit the waterproof caps (203691 &203692), plus the antenna cap (203836).
Tighten the nuts using the sockets as shown.
5. Pack the unit
For std units, take the fitting kit (10885-A) & cable (203840) and seal into a plastic bag.
For Honda only, add GPS antenna (203845).
Take white box (204070) and add instruction booklet (00144) for Std or (00143-REV7) for Honda, and parts kit, then Insert(203925).
Clean the screen using glass cleaner and a clean microfibre cloth, then add the sun cover (203751) Std or (203751_Honda).
Add a serial label to the end of the box to match the one on the unit, insert the unit and close the box. Fit the box sleeve, Std () & Honda (203807-A).
Shrink wrap. For std, place on finished goods or pack as normal.
For Honda only take brown box (204071) and fit serial label to match the white box, plus recycling label (204073).
Pack 25 to a box and add serial labels to match the ones on the inner boxes, plus a large label with part number and quantity.
<note>PCB’s are programmed after Board assembly is complete. (currently in engineering)</note>
Connect GPS puck antenna (Honda only) into position in back case and spread a small amount of adhesive.


Screw nuts onto connectors as shown in pic below
Insert screw and shake proof washers into the four positions using a screw driver.
Place push fit cap into position see pic below
Position both connectors to one side.
Carefully peel off protective film on the back of TFT ribbon cable.
Press down into position as shown.
Tape connector wire into position as shown.

Insert FPC cable into position as shown below.
Ensure this is clicked into position (carefully use tweezers on both sides)

Carefully push both connectors into position
Insert other end of FFC cable Carefully. Ensure it is clicked into position.
* Connect the built unit to the programming bench with the ethernet cable and power cables provided. Advise engineering if you need to program generic P7s before connecting.
* After 5 minutes, pull the screen forward slightly and check the 3 green LEDs are solid.
* If the 3 LEDs are solid green the unit has been programmed and can have a serial number label attached
* Move unit to the soak bench for 2 days.
Troubleshooting:
* LEDs are not on at all
Check the power supply section of the PCB
* Only 1 LED lights
* Screen does not turn on after programming
* Touchscreen does not work
Check the 100 way connectors for the CM4
====== Customer Software Instructions ======
Check currently installed version from Menu - Settings - About. If the update file you need to install is a lower version. ie. 020123 = v2.1.23, then please see dev to have /etc/bundleversion deleted to allow update.
<note>Instructions for engineering to delete /etc/bundleversion:
Connect to unit via ssh, root:root.
rm /etc/bundleversion; sync; reboot</note>
Copy the .osupd file for the customer from S:/Code/Production/5185 Poseidon 7 and place on the root of a USB.
ENSURE THERE IS ONLY ONE .osupd file ON THE USB.
Copy factory-reset file from S:/Code/Production/5185 Poseidon 7 and place on the root of a USB.
When the unit is powered on and Poseidon interface is shown, insert USB into the unit.
When the unit shows update complete, remove the USB and restart.
====== 5185 Soak Instructions ======
* Place Unit on soak bench
* When connecting, wait for unit to power on and select 'English' then 'OK'.
* Using the brightness icon in top right, turn the brightness down to half way.
* Unit is now to be left running for 2 days
====== 5185 Test Instructions ======
* Turn your power supply to 24V and connect the P7 twin tail cable to your power supply, GPS and NMEA cable
* Ensure your barcode scanner is connected via USB
* Open Puma
* Select Programming
* Select P7 or P7 (Honda)
* Follow the instructions on screen
* In the final step, take your USB marked “H7 Update” (For Honda) and insert it in to the device
* Wait for the device screen to say “Successful, Reboot”
* Remove the USB and Power Cable
* Reinsert the Power Cable
* You should now see a language selection screen, select devices and check serial number is correct.
* After test is complete the screen can be sealed with Polyurethane and left overnight to cure
* Check for holes in Polyurethane after curing
Print labels required and place in position as pic shows. Note: Serial numbers must be logged on system
You will require 1 x white label per unit.

Insert twin tail power cable and GPS into a clear bag and ensure the plastic cover for the GPS connector is fitted.(this is for Honda only)
Please note mounting brackets are sent loose in a plastic bag, screen is inserted into inner box insert, see pic below
