5971 Build Instructions

Programming Procedure

You will need an ST-Programmer and the appropriate connector for the board see pic

Connect the ST-Programmer to SK6 on the PCB see pic below. Connect to NMEA Network

Open STM32CubeProgrammer on your PC, you should see this: see pic below.

Click “Connect” in the top right corner with the following settings

Click the ‘Erasing and Programming’ View.

In the file path, click “Browse” and select the following file: S:\Code\Production\5971 Nav Light Module\5971-v1.0.5.bin

Make sure that the following boxes are ticked in the erasing and programming window, see pic below

Click “Start Programming”. If programming successful, you should see this: see pic below LED1 should start blinking blue on the PCB. Programming Finished

Testing Procedure

Connect programmed PCB to the NMEA Network, Connect 12V Power supply across SK1. (Left most pin – Black) (2nd from left pin – Red) Also, connect to Extension board (P/N 5972). And the LED testing Connector see pic below:

Place all switches on the ‘Auto’ Position (To the right), on the main and extension board. Put the Led testing connector in SK3:

Press Buttons SW11 – SW14 (next to each switch). The LEDs next to these buttons should light up for approx. 2.5 secs each.
