9101 - Seatek Testing Procedure
This procedure follows steps for testing the 9101 - Seatek Engine Adapter
You will need the following tools:
- Seatek Engine Test Box:
- Monex Installed on your PC
- A 24V Power Supply
- Small Flat-Head Screwdriver
Assembling/Connecting Seatek Engine Adapter to Test Box
This Section outlines all connections that need to be made before testing can begin
Step 1
Step 2
Strip 5-10cm of each coloured wire from the Seatek Ignition cable and connect to the test box as shown below:
An Examle of how it should look is shown below:

Put the Cover Back onto the Seatek Test Box

Connect NMEA Connector to the Seatek Engine Adapter.
Make sure that the Seatek Engine Adapter instance switch is set to '0'
Step 6
Connect a 24V power supply to the labeled wires on the Seatek Test box. Pay Attention to the wire colours and make sure they are not touching

Turn all the Switches to Position '1' and turn the 'ignition switch to the very left. (It should be in a vertical position) Use the Image below for reference.
Step 9
Turn on the power supply (24V). Click on 'Get Serial' and 'Get ProdInfo', it should display the following:

Turn the ignition switch to the right (45 deg) to turn the ignition on:
You will see the 'Ignition' box light red on Monex:

Now Test if the 'Start' functionality works correctly.
Turn the Ignition switch all the way to the right until you see the red LED light on the Seatek Test Box.
The 'Start' box on monex should light yellow, and the 'Stop' box on Monex should stop being red.
When you release the switch, both should return to as they were before.

Step 13
Check that the Alternator Volts readings are correct:
Turn the ignition switch 'off' (vertical) - The Aux Voltage Reading on Monex should go to 0V.
When the ignition switch is turned 'on' (45deg) - The Aux Voltage Reading should approximately match the Main Voltage On Monex(Approx 24V)
Step 14
Turn down the voltage on the power supply and watch the Alternator Voltage section (On Monex) match the voltage of the power supply.
Return the voltage to 24V when this step is complete.

Now Turn Switch 1 (SW1) using a flat head screwdriver and observe the Transmission Oil Tab on Monex.
You Should Get the following Results:
Switch Number —– Value
0 ——————— 0 Bar
1 ——————— 1.875 Bar
2 ——————— 7.5 Bar
3 ——————— 13.33 Bar
Step 17
Now Turn Switch 2 (SW2) using a flat head screwdriver and observe the STBD Turbo Pressure Tab on Monex.
You Should Get the following Results:
Switch Number —– Value
0 ——————— 0 Bar (Anything Below 0 is fine)
1 ——————— 0.3125 Bar
2 ——————— 1.25 Bar
3 ——————— 2.222 Bar
Step 17
Now Turn Switch 3 (SW3) using a flat head screwdriver and observe the PORT Turbo Pressure Tab on Monex.
You Should Get the following Results:
Switch Number —– Value
0 ——————— 0 Bar (Anything Below 0 is fine)
1 ——————— 0.3125 Bar
2 ——————— 1.25 Bar
3 ——————— 2.222 Bar
Step 18
Now Turn Switch 4 (SW4) using a flat head screwdriver and observe the OIL Pressure Tab On Monex.
You Should Get the following Results:
Switch Number —– Value
0 ——————— 0 Bar (Anything Below 0 is fine) - The RIGHT Green LED on the Seatek Test Box will Turn ON
1 ——————— 0.625 Bar - The RIGHT Green LED on the Seatek Test Box will Turn OFF
2 ——————— 2.5 Bar - The RIGHT Green LED on the Seatek Test Box will Stay OFF
3 ——————— 4.444 Bar - The RIGHT Green LED on the Seatek Test Box will Stay OFF
When the Right Green LED is turned on, the 'Alarm 2 (Oil Pressure)' box will also light on Monex
Keep Switch 4 in Position 3 when finished Step 18 to keep LED off.
Step 19
Now Turn Switch 5 (SW5) using a flat head screwdriver and observe the PORT Exhaust Gas Temperature Tab On Monex.
This Reading will jump around a lot on Monex, as long as the reading roughly averages out to the values below then its okay (+- 30 deg C)
You Should Get the following Results:
Switch Number —– Value
0 ——————— 65 deg C
1 ——————— 92 deg C
2 ——————— 165 deg C
3 ——————— 113 deg C
Step 20
Now Turn Switch 6 (SW6) using a flat head screwdriver and observe the STBD Exhaust Gas Temperature Tab On Monex.
This Reading will jump around a lot on Monex, as long as the reading roughly averages out to the values below then its okay (+- 30 deg C)
You Should Get the following Results:
Switch Number —– Value
0 ——————— 65 deg C
1 ——————— 92 deg C
2 ——————— 165 deg C
3 ——————— 113 deg C
Step 21
Now Turn Switch 7 (SW7) using a flat head screwdriver and observe the OIL Temperature Tab On Monex.
You Should Get the following Results:
Switch Number —– Value
0 ——————— Anything Greater than 140 deg C
1 ——————— 0 deg C
2 ——————— 25 deg C
3 ——————— 130 deg C
Step 22
Now Turn Switch 8 (SW8) using a flat head screwdriver and observe the OIL Temperature Tab On Monex.
You Should Get the following Results:
Switch Number —– Value
0 ——————— Anything Greater than 140 deg C - - The LEFT Green LED on the Seatek Test Box will Turn ON 1 ——————— 0 deg C - The LEFT Green LED on the Seatek Test Box will Turn OFF 2 ——————— 25 deg C - The LEFT Green LED on the Seatek Test Box will stay OFF 3 ——————— 130 deg C - - The LEFT Green LED on the Seatek Test Box will Turn ON again
When the Left Green LED is turned on, the 'Alarm 1 (Water Temperature)' box will also light on Monex
Keep Switch 8 in Position 1 when finished Step 18 to keep LED off.
