4521 Build Instructions

The 4521 PCB assembly contains components that are sensitive to electrostatic discharge (ESD) – please make sure you are wearing your wrist strap when handling.

Select Case Cover 201030 for 4 Channel Temperature Module

Assemble 4 off (203943) M3 x 5 mm standoffs as shown to studs on underside of case cover.

Remove the nut and o-ring from the can connector plug. (this will enable it to assemble into the cover)

You can now flash the software to the PCB and test for function

Connect the PCB to the AVR programming module and connect the CAN connector plug to a 12vSource, and follow the screens as detailed below.

Assemble the programmed circuit board as shown to the case, screw 4 off 201485 nuts onto studs to retain circuit board using a torque of 1.0 Nm as shown below

After assembling the four nuts the Base Cover 201030 is ready to be assembled

The Base Cover 201030 is assembled using 4 off 201074 Torx mono drive screws tightened to a torque of 1.0Nm see below

When fitting the nut for the M12 connector use shim washer 203017

Affix self adhesive 200337 label to one end of cover, positioned centrally as shown. Label printed with Part Number Software revision, Serial Number, 4 Channel Temperature Module, see below

The serial number on the product label, can now be assigned to the product. Connect the unit via the CAN lead from the PC. In the Monex program select SET SERIAL No you can now type in the serial number. You can now check that the unit has Retained the information by selecting GET PRODUCT INFO this should now Display the PRODUCT NUMBER, SERIAL NUMBER, HARDWARE and SOFTWARE Version numbers. Basic temperature reading test can be carried out on Monex – note, red lights should be lit when test leads are not connected.
